Meissen, a city located in Germany, is the historical cradle of European ceramics. It was here that for the first time in Europe the formula of making porcelain, guarded by the Chinese for centuries, was discovered - the porcelain which was often called white gold though frequently more expensive than gold. City of Meissen, for centuries associated with ceramics, is also the place where under the Mei brand collections of ceramic tiles distinguished by a unique design and high quality have been created for a hundred and fifty years.
1863 THE COMPANY IS FOUNDED
Meissen’s partially owned raw clay mining field provided the unique white raw material for manufacturing of all ceramic products.
1879 MANUFACTUR ING OF PORCELAINBEGINS
The Meissen history of quality and design began at the start of production of porcelain.
1891 PRODUCTION OF THE FAIENCE TILES BEGINS
In this year, the Meißner Ofenund Porzellanfabrik began faience wall tile manufacturing.
1945 MEISSEN IS THE MARKET LEADER
The Meissen kiln industry succeeded in getting a large market share and became the market leader in Germany.
1980 THE BLUE MEISSEN TILES
The blue Meissen tiles became the symbol of the highest quality due to their exceptional standard and unique composition.
2015 PRODUCTS AVAILABLE IN RUSSIA
The traditional German quality and exceptional design have became available also in Poland
